To play a specific game or two it is great (if you look up ahead of time how well they work) but otherwise just get a WiiU and buy the games.įor the record I have an i72600K, 3.2Ghz with 4.2 turbo, 8GB of 1600Mhz RAM and an overclocked GTX670. I love emulation but as a replacement for the platform it's too fiddly and spotty.

Sometimes games don't run as well on newer versions so you can go and find a different build. Ultimately you're still as the mercy of the current build of the emulator. There are various settings to play with and if you're in to that you won't mind some tweaking to get a game running right. I also played portions of Kirby's Epic Yarn and Mario Galaxy using just a 360 controller and both of these games don't really use motion controls so they work really well on a standard controller.Īs for the game emulation, the software can take you to the wiki for each game pretty easily where they have listed recommendations for settings that have been tested by the community. I played Guilty Party which is heavily reliant on gimmicky movements with the controller and I just about managed to get by with a lot of trial and error using a keyboard and xbox controller. You can simulate motions and then map them to a button but it's not a good solution over just buying the hardware and hooking it up. Second, Dolphin disables it automatically (though it only does so robustly if you're using a recent development build), so there isn't really any point in doing it manually.īut having the wrong value for this setting wouldn't prevent the game from starting, it would prevent you from using the pointer correctly in certain situations. From my experience emulating the Wiimote is not good.

Yes, Dolphin does say to leave this checked, but some games do need it to be unchecked (but games that don't need it are slower when it's on, and many games don't need it, which is why it isn't on by default)įirst, the setting to disable for the Super Mario Galaxy games is Skip EFB Access from CPU, not Store EFB Copies to Texture Only. Check the permissions of the Dolphin Emulator folder in Documents. "Failed to write BT.DINF to SYSCONF" and "SetupWiiMemory: Can't create setting.txt file" means Dolphin isn't able to write to Documents.

you can find all the information you need about my computer on my profile if needed. i think my computer may just be bad, it has been falling apart for a while. i have had no problem emulating Super Mario Sunshine in the past, so i dont know what i should do. the third error i get is "Unable to resolve read address 80004000 PC 0" and after that it is just the same messages with a different number at the end. the next error reads "SetupWiiMemory: Can't create setting.txt file". the first error i always get is "Failed to write BT DINF to SYSCONF". when i loaded the game, i get a bunch of errors, to the point that i just need to use task manager to close out of it. the state has 4 stars next to it, and when i hover over that it says "^ Playable : Needs Efb Access from CPU." im not fully sure what it means, but when messing with the emulator settings i just got the same result. when i set the iso directory to the file with my iso, the game, being Super Mario Galaxy 2 appears and where the image for it is supposed to be is a grey x. I am using an xbox controller to play and I always get stuck in an arena in which to get out you much move backwards (tilting up) but when i try to move back i. ive been having trouble with the tilt controls on a level in super mario galaxy 2 which requires the wii remote to be tilted to move the ball. my theory is that my iso might just be bad, but im not fully sure. super mario galaxy 2 : r/DolphinEmulator. I have been having problems with getting wii games to work on dolphin, and i would like some help figuring it out.
